Principal's Message
Dear Saturn Families, Guardians and Community Members,
Welcome to Saturn Street Elementary and Arts and Media Magnet School.
Saturn Street Elementary and Arts and Media Magnet is committed to ensuring all students have access to a rigorous and well-rounded education. We will continue to focus on foundational skills in Literacy and math to ensure students are proficient readers and have fluency in basic math concepts by the end of 2nd Grade. Visual and Performing Arts and Media projects will be integrated into our teaching and learning as well.
We have a wealth of academic programs and partners that we collaborate with to support our instructional program and to give our students a superior educational experience. We have partnerships with Literacy Partners, who are proponents of Writers Workshop. We also partner with the UCLA Mathematics Projects. Their facilitators assist our fantastic teachers in implementing Cognitively Guided Instruction during our mathematic learning blocks. Inner City Arts works with professional teaching artists who provide our students with hands-on instruction in a range of subject areas within the visual, performing and media arts; Elevo creates play environments that help our students build leadership skills, relationships with peers, and improve our students' physical health and social emotional well being; Orchestra allows students self-expression in music; Conga Kids explores modern and multicultural dance routines and subject matter. Students are able to showcase their skills and talents in various performances that are held throughout the school year.
Saturn Street Elementary and Arts and Media implements LAUSD’s Strategic Plan. This plan consists of five parts called Pillars. These Pillars represent the essential areas of education that help provide our students, staff, and parents with services that help develop the whole child. These five pillars are: Academic Excellence, Joy and Wellness, Engagement and Collaboration, Operational Effectiveness and Investing in Staff.
We appreciate the support of all of our stakeholder groups that help to make Saturn a wonderful place to learn. It continues to be an honor and privilege to serve the amazing and creative students, parents, community leaders, and staff of the Saturn Community.

¡Bienvenidos a Saturn Street Elementary and Arts and Media Magnet School!
Saturn Street Elementary and Arts and Media Magnet está comprometida a asegurar que todos los estudiantes tengan acceso a una educación rigurosa y completa. Continuaremos enfocándonos en las destrezas básicas de alfabetización y matemáticas para asegurar que los estudiantes sean lectores competentes y tengan fluidez en los conceptos básicos de matemáticas al final del 2do grado. Artes visuales y escénicas y proyectos de medios de comunicación se integrarán en nuestra enseñanza y el aprendizaje también.
Tenemos una gran cantidad de programas de instrucción y socios con los que colaboramos para apoyar nuestro programa de instrucción y para dar a nuestros estudiantes una experiencia educativa superior. Tenemos asociaciones con Literacy Partners, que son partidarios de Writers Workshop. Además, también colaboramos con los Proyectos de Matemáticas de la UCLA. Sus facilitadores ayudan a nuestros fantásticos profesores a poner en práctica la Instrucción Guiada Cognitivamente durante nuestros bloques de aprendizaje de matemáticas. Inner City Arts trabaja con artistas profesionales de la enseñanza que proporcionan a nuestros alumnos instrucción práctica en una serie de materias dentro de las artes visuales, escénicas y de los medios de comunicación; Elevo crea entornos de juego que ayudan a nuestros alumnos a desarrollar habilidades de liderazgo, a relacionarse con sus compañeros y a mejorar su salud física y su aprendizaje socioemocional; Orchestra permite a los alumnos expresarse a través de la música; Conga Kids explora rutinas de baile modernas y multiculturales. Los alumnos pueden mostrar lo que han aprendido en diversas actuaciones que se celebran a lo largo del curso escolar.
Saturn Street Elementary y Arts and Media también continuarán implementando el Plan Estratégico del LAUSD. Este plan consiste en cinco partes llamadas Pilares. Estos Pilares representan las áreas esenciales de la educación que ayudan a proveer a nuestros estudiantes/personal/ y padres con servicios que ayudan a desarrollar al niño en su totalidad. Estos cinco pilares son Excelencia Académica, Alegría y Bienestar, Compromiso y Colaboración, Eficacia Operativa e Invertir en el Personal.
Apreciamos el apoyo de todos nuestros grupos de interés que ayudan a hacer de Saturn un lugar maravilloso para aprender. Continua siendo un honor y un privilegio servir a los asombrosos y creativos estudiantes, padres, lideres de la comunidad y personal de la comunidad de Saturn.
