In Loving Memory

Dear Saturn Families and Community,

I am pleased to welcome you to the 2019-20 school year! I would like to extend a special welcome to all of the new families joining Saturn Elementary and Arts & Media Magnet this year and welcome back all of our returning families as well! Our vision for our school is to provide our students with creative and engaging learning experiences. Our belief is that student success is attributed to partnerships and relationships we build in our community. (It really does take a village!)

Please make sure to take advantage of all of the avenues of communication that we offer:

  • Our Saturn Elementary website is full of great information and we urge you to check the website often for news and updates.
  • Make sure to check your email regularly!  We plan to send communications home via email.
  • Plan to read our monthly newsletter, the "The Art of Education” that will begin in September. This is one of our primary modes of communicating important announcements and event information to parents, and we appreciate you taking the time to "stay in the loop!"

This year we are pleased to welcome new members to our faculty. Helping to open our new Arts & Media Magnet at Saturn are Rebecca Roffman (2nd Grade), Samuel Thompson (3rd Grade), Amanda Tooley (4th Grade), and our Magnet Coordinator, Cybele Cambros. (Ms. Cambros will be on our campus on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.) Other Saturn faculty who have moved over to teach in the Magnet are Martha Gonzalez (Kindergarten), Norma Sampson (1st Grade), and Barbara Spencer (5th Grade). Our Special Education team welcomes Carrie Farber (AUT K-1). Additional staff will be joining our team as we continue to open the school year.

We look forward to having returning and new volunteers! Information will be distributed the first week of school inviting family members and community to join our volunteer team. We know that it is support like this that makes our school community so much more and successful! Please consider volunteering. “Friends of Saturn”, a non-profit organization, will also be looking forward to families joining in on the many activities that are being planned for our students. Information on joining FOS will be made available to all.

As always, please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns and welcome back!

Smiling… always,

Tracie Bryant
